Comedian Alan Carr is “leaning on Adele during hard times" following separation from his husband of three years Paul Drayton.
A spokesperson for the comedian, 45, and his husband, 46, broke the news in a statement through PA news agency earlier this month, explaining their separating "amicably" after three years of marriage.
"After 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating," the statement read.
It continued: "They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways.
"We request that their privacy is respected at this sensitive time."
Alan and Easy On Me singer Adele, 33, have been close pals for many years and Adele has previously documented, in her album 25, the support she received from Alan as she went through her high profile divorce from Simon Konecki in 2019.
A source told MailOnline: "Alan has been leaning on Adele during hard times, like he was there for her during her marriage break up.
"It's sad for everyone involved but the time was right to split."
Alan and Paul got married in January 2018, and it was Alan's close friend Adele who officiated the ceremony.
The Chatty Man star had previously spoken of his desire for Adele to perform at his wedding, and she made his wishes comes true.
However, Adele wasn't quite content with just singing one of her ballads, and actually got ordained so she could officiate Alan and Paul's big day.
During an appearance on This Morning, speaking about Adele, Alan revealed: "She said I want to do your special day, let me do everything. So, she got ordained and she married us."
He emotionally added: "She is the kindest, most sweetest, loveliest person ever. She flew us to Vegas to see Celine Dion sing. She sang my first dance. It was the best day of my life."
The superstar singer also confirmed the news on Instagram shortly after the pair tied the knot, and shared a photograph of herself dressed in a series of white robes in front of a spectacular flower display.
