Royal Family news latest – Shock as Meghan Markle is named 'most respected royal' thanks to her 'bravery and resilience'

THERE is shock today after Meghan Markle was named "the most popular royal" in a new study.

The Duchess of Sussex has been widely criticised over the past year for the negative impact she and Prince Harry have had on the Royal Family.

However a new poll conducted by youth health charity stem4 analysed the interest in a number of celebrities and public figures, including musicians, online creators, sports people and public figures.

Meghan garnered 21% of the vote, making her far more popular with the 1,032 people polled than Kate Middleton, who garnered just 11%.

She was praised for her "bravery and resilience" and for carrying on "even when things go wrong".

The ordeal erupted when Burchill tweeted that Lilibet’s name was "a missed opportunity" for the new parents.

KATE MIDDLETON AFFECTIONATELY CALLS PRINCE CHARLES ‘GRANDPA’ – AS LIP READER REVEALS G7 PRIVATE CHATS

HE may be the Prince of Wales and the future king of England but it seems Prince Charles is just ‘grandpa’ to his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge, 39, appeared to have used the moniker for her father-in-law during a meeting at the G7 summit, according to a lip reader.

Kate and Charles accompanied the Queen, along with Prince William, Camilla, at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Friday for an evening reception with some of the world’s leaders.

Upon arriving, the duchess greeted her father-in-law, and a lip reader told CornwallLive that she said: “Hello Grandpa, how are you?”

Prince Charles is grandfather to Kate and William’s three adorable kids – Princes George and Louis and cheeky Princess Charlotte – so the name is only fitting. The pair also shared a sweet moment at Prince Philip’s funeral back in April as Kate Middleton pecked grief-stricken Prince Charles on the cheek.

    QUEEN’S NOD TO THE SUSSEXES

The Queen appeared to make a sweet nod to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after she wore a special brooch to the G7 summit on Friday.

The 95-year-old monarch wore the Millet Brooch – which royal experts think could be a sentimental link to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The piece of jewellery was given to her in 2007 by the President of the Republic of Botswana at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Uganda.

It features a gold sorghum, or millet, which is the main crop in Botswana – a country known to hold a special place in the hearts of the Sussexes.

HOW THE QUEEN MADE A TOUCHING NOD TO HER GREAT-GRANDDAUGHTER LILIBET DIANA OVER THE WEEKEND – BUT DID YOU SPOT IT?

THE Queen welcomed President Biden and his wife Dr Jill for tea at Windsor Castle over the weekend.

During the visit, Her Majesty, 95, gave a very special nod to her new great-granddaughter Lilibet Diana – but did you spot it?

The monarch looked sensational wearing a pink Stewart Parvin dress, paired with a Rachel Trevor-Morgan hat – also in pink – and some stylish white gloves.

If you looked closely at the dress pattern, it featured lilies as part of the floral design.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry revealed that their new daughter, who was born on June 4, has the nickname “Lili”, and royal fans have said the Queen’s dress choice was symbolic. The Queen also wore her Jardine star brooch for the visit, which could be a subtle nod to the American Star-Spangled Banner.
