I’m all about a good self-care moment, which for me includes candles, fresh flowers, and a powerful face mask. However, I’ve recently become more invested in my haircare routine, and instead of a revolving door of products that may or may not work, I decided to create my own. I tried a custom hair routine from Prose, and even though I’m generally a wash-and-go kind of girl, they also recommended a Pre-Shampoo Mask ($38). You’re meant to apply it on damp hair for about 10 minutes before you shampoo and condition, and I wasn’t really sure how to do that, until I discovered this simple self-care hack.
Here’s what I did: I drew myself a bath (radical, I know), lit some candles, and applied my face and hair mask while I soaked and relaxed. I’m dreaming of it right now. It’s the perfect wait to let the mask work its magic and give yourself a moment of relaxation. Speaking of which, this mask actually works. I have thick hair, and I wanted more touchable softness without losing volume, which is exactly what this product did. My ends were nice and smooth, and although I never thought about using a hair mask before, it’s now a permanent part of my Sunday self-care routine.
